Celosia argentea

Highly valued, unique flower of many names: Cock's Comb, Coral Statice, and Brain Statice. Long lasting, large and exotic cut flower with long, thick stems. Celosia likes heat and space and is not frost tolerant, but is generally very easy to grow. This mix contains both coral folding flowers and spikes of yellow, red, orange, purple, and pink.  Dazzle your friends with a vase of these!

Start indoors 4 weeks before the last frost date, or sow outside after last frost date. Cover with 1/8” of soil and keep moist, celosia will not germinate if allowed to dry out. Ideal germination temperature is 80 degrees. Transplant or thin to 8-12" after all risk of frost has passed into a sunny location.  Plants will branch out heavily if given adequate space.
