Diplotaxis erucoides

A species of arugula with a complex wasabi-paste flavor.  Plant is short and stout and fairly quick to bolt in the heat so plant early.  Spicey leaves are great in salads, sandwiches, soups, rice bowls, sushi, and poke.  It can even be made into a pesto that totally resembles wasabi paste!  Processing in this way can help you use up the harvest before it bolts.  Once the plant has flowered, its very attractive to a wide array of pollinators and buds and flowers can also be eaten!Can be eaten fresh or cooked.  Arugula is high in vitamin A, K, and B-9.
