Phaseolus vulgaris

Bush green or dry bean. 55 days to green, 95 days to dry bean.  An heirloom green or dry bean named after a city in Minnesota.  Glossy dark purple pods are pencil thin and make a delectable treat fresh or as a cooked green bean.  These have a definite "beany" taste. Straight bean pods hold their snackable texture quite well in the field.  They can also be grown as a dry bean.  Dry beans are creamy white and purple mixed.  These don't require trellising but will send out runners and grow up a little bit if given one.
