Quick facts
- Dwarf, 2' tall sunflowers with large heads!
Helianthus annuus
What they lack in stature they make up for in their bright smiling faces! These dwarf sunflowers have golden yellow petals and are great for garden borders, cutflowers, and short-season sunflower seed production. We love short sunflowers because the seeds have no trouble having time to ripen in our norther climate!

Direct sow after last frost date, covering lightly. Thin to 12 inches between plants. Harvest heads in August once you seed the birds going for them- be sure to cut them before too many fall! Harvest into a bag, beat or stomp on the bags to free the seeds from the head, and use screens or fans to separate seeds from chaff. Check out our blog post on when to harvest sunflower seeds.
