Lathyrus odoratus
Sweet Pea, Climbing, Mixed colors. We love sweet peas! Vigorous climbers, this mix reaches 5-6' tall and must have a trellis. Flowers over a very long period of time, through the early fall frosts. This makes a great addition to cut-flower bunches.
As members of the legume familiy fabacea, sweet peas are nitrogen fixers. This means they partner with nitrogen fixing bacteria at the soil/root level to harvest atmospheric nitrogen, turning it into a plant-available nitrogen. Nitrogen is necessary for the leafy green growth of plants.
