Nasturtium officinale

Watercress is a popular plant the world over.  High in vitamins A, C, and K, potassium, and calcium, the leaves have a pungent and peppery flavor.  More mild if it is grown in the shade, is well-watered, and grown in cooler weather, watercress thrives in very moist places in the garden.  Does well in both indoor and outdoor container gardens!  Plants are small and round, measuring 10-14".

This green is very hardy and overwinters on our farm without cover when sown in fall.
