120 days to dry, climbing pea. Very plump dry pea with unique burgundy wine color, turning chocolate brown when cooked. Dry peas have a rustic, rough feel. Tall vines 6-7’ in height yield a modest amount of short pods. Later maturing than other dry peas but worth it! Heat sensitive and more productive when planted earlier. Also called ‘Biskopen’ or ‘Bishop’s Grey’. Yields 15 lbs. per 50 ft. of trellis. Rare Scandinavian heirloom.
How to grow it:
Peas love a crowd, sow 1-6" apart along as soon as the ground can be worked in spring. Plant 1" deep at the base of a trellis such as a fence or net strung between two posts as vines grow tall. Allow pods to ripen and dry down on the plant.
