Lactuca sativa

Butterhead type with burgundy tinge that is very quick growing.  This is a rare heirloom variety that could do very well in market production as the leaves stand up away from the soil and are easy to harvest and clean.  Leaves a large and crispy forming loose heads that can be harvested as heads or as individual leaves.  Nice texture.  Relatively slow to bolt even in a hot summer.
