Aromatic herb of many uses! Licorice flavored leaves make and excellent sweet tea with hints of anise and mint, while not being exactly either. Spikes of lavendar purple flowers are very attractive to pollinators. Stately upright plants grow 2’-3’ tall and make great additions to flower beds. Hardy and durable perennial.
Leaves resemble other mints and are spear shaped with scalloped edges. The leaves are used in Korean cuisine and it is also known as Korean licorice mint. Harvest continually by cutting young stems and leaves. Used in teas for cold symptoms, or aromatically for energy and circulation. Even kids love the taste of calmative licorice mint tea!

Can take up to 3 weeks to germinate. For best results start seeds in a controlled environment, such as a greenhouse, covering very lightly. Germinates best at about 70 degrees F. After 4-6 weeks, transplant at between 2-3’. Transplants well. Sow on the surface as light aids germination.
