Brassica carinata

40 days.  Thicker, juicier, and milder tasting than kale, this plant is grown in Ethiopia for its dark green, nutritious leaves.  More drought tolerant and adaptable than kale (brassica oleracea), this kale is our new favorite!  It can thrive in climates with hot summers.  Slightly thicker leaves similar to collard, this plant is less prone to insect damage than standard kale.  We love to eat it raw and cooked.
