Lactuca sativa
Curly leaf lettuce with bright green, obovate leaves that are highly undulating with small teeth. Plants average 7 in. tall and 12 in. in diameter. Excellent texture with sweet flavor and no bitterness. Mid-season maturing. We got this variety from the Seed Savers Exchange Yearbook, whom it was given to by Mrs. L. Reaume. She obtained the variety from her husband's mother who most likely received it from grandmother Meme La Porte. This variety has been grown since at least the 1930s.
