Cucumis melo

60-70 days.  The perfect mini cantaloupe for a short season climate.  Fruits are about six inches in diameter and compact plants are perfect for small spaces and backyard gardens.  Bred at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul for upper Midwest climates, this cantaloupe is widely adapted and very popular.  Released in 1948, this melon is now considered a beloved heirloom.  Thrives in short and hot summers.  In areas with long seasons, it is possible to grow 2-3 crops of this each year. Melons fall off the vine when ripe and are very fragrant.  Netted skin.
