Echinacea purpurea

Echinacea is one of the best flowers for attracting pollinators. You will truly be surprised how bumblebees, honeybees, and beneficial insects of all kinds flock to its blooms. It's a beautiful perennial with a long blooming season and is somewhat drought tolerant. Roots and flower heads are medicinal and can be used to make teas, tinctures, and salves. Start indoors up to 12 weeks before last frost. Germination can take up to 2 weeks. Transplant at 24” apart. Alternatively, sow in place in spring or early fall, raking seeds in lightly in a weed free location.
