Quick facts
Pisum sativum 30 days for greens. Bush, snap pea. Parsley Peas produce exaggerated tendrils that fan out into delicious fern-like foliage that can be eaten fresh or sauteed. These tendrils resemble sprouts in flavor and texture and can be added to salads or sandwiches. A small area produces masses of these delicious greens. Technically a snap pea, this curious pea is typically grown for its edible tendrils, leaflets, and flowers. Harvest whole plants, or cut tendrils above the first node and get a second growth. Plants will produce snap peas at about 70 days if not harvested for greens. Great for container gardens. We were so excited to try parsley peas for the first time and know you will be too! Peas are excellent sources of protein, fiber, phytonutrients, Vitamin C, niacin, and omega-3 fatty acids. |
