French heirloom for making mustard! Plants bolt quickly producing a profuse amount of yellow flowers which yield surprising amounts of light brown mustard seeds. A small 5 X 5' space yields enough to keep you in mustard until the following season!
How to grow it:
Direct sow around the last frost date. Harvest seeds by clipping upper part of plant which bears seeds into a large bag. Agitate bag to free seeds from pods. Use a fan to separate chaff from seeds. Grind with a coffee or grain grinder to produce mustard powder. Hydrate with vinegar, wine, or beer to make your own mustard sauce!
