Quick facts
- Purple-podded snow pea
- Large podded
Pisum sativum
Climbing, snow pea, 60-80 days. A recent breeding project of Cornell University, Beauregarde Snow was bred to be more flavorful than existing purple-podded snow pea varieties. We loved its flavor, tenderness, and deep purple color, and it also matured slightly faster than other snow pea varieties. These large pods are full of anthocyanins! Bred by M. Mazourek.

Peas love a crowd, sow 1" apart along as soon as the ground can be worked in spring. Plant 1" deep at the base of a trellis such as a fence or net strung between two posts as vines grow tall. Plants will bear longer if planted early and pods are picked regularly before peas begin drying down. Seed specs: 30 min. |
