Solanum lycopersicum

75 days, Indeterminate. We are so fortunate to have been introduced to this tomato!  About 2 inches in diameter, this mouth-popper is a plum tomato.  Bred by Dean Slater, 'Damascus Steel' is a cross between 'Purple Dragon' and 'Striped Sweetheart' and is rich in purple and red stripes and thus anthocyanins.  Not super sweet, this tomato has a bold, slightly acidic flavor.  Compact plants with regular-type leaves bear productive clusters of fruit.  The harvest is spread over time- these plants are great for home container gardens.  Rare in the United States but more widely grown in Europe.  These seeds came to us from a gardener in Greece.
