Lactuca sativa
A tropical version of the heirloom variety Green Mignonette (itself a very heat resistant lettuce) from which it was bred. This variety is heat resistant and is a favorite in Hawaii. It is a semi-heading lettuce (loosely packed heads) and grows 8-10 inches tall. Heads can can weigh up to 1 lb.. Can also be harvested for baby leaves at 38-45 days.

Direct sow up to 4 weeks before the average last frost. Plant successively every two weeks to keep you in young greens, or give them more space to mature and harvest the whole head. |
