Lepidium sativum

25 days. Annual heirloom herb in the mustard family.  As easy and quick and arugula, with more piquant pepper packed in its feathery leaves. Pick leaves young and add fresh to salads or sauces, or use as a garnish.  Widely adpated and grown.  Also called pepperwort, its rich in vitamins A, C and calcium.  Used like sprouts in gourmet sandwiches.

Direct sow up to 4 weeks before the average last frost. Do not transplant. Quite cold tolerant and more mild tasting in cooler weather, get this one started early to beat the heat as well as the pests. Harvest leaves young by cutting the whole plant. Plant successively every two weeks to keep you in young greens.
