Quick facts
Pisum sativum 120 days to dry, climbing pea. Very plump dry pea with unique burgundy wine color, turning chocolate brown when cooked. Dry peas have a rustic, rough feel. Tall vines 6-7’ in height yield a modest amount of short pods. Later maturing than other dry peas but worth it! Heat sensitive and more productive when planted earlier. Also called ‘Biskopen’ or ‘Bishop’s Grey’. Yields 15 lbs. per 50 ft. of trellis. Rare Scandinavian heirloom. How to grow it:
