Start seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before average last frost date. Tomatillos tend to germinate and get up and growing quickly. Thin to the strongest plant per pot. Transplant 18-24" apart in full sun, plants transplant better when small, 10-12". 2-4' plants don't require staking. Harvest fruits when the paper husk has started to turn brown. We harvest ours when they have fallen to the ground, could it get any easier? Tomatillos benefit from cross pollination, so for best results grow two or more plants. |
