85 days, Determinate. Dwarf Italian heirloom for saucing and canning. Large 2 oz fruits go a long way in the kitchen! Extremely productive for an open-pollinated variety, just a couple of plants will keep you in sauce all winter. Few seeds and little juice- excellent for pasting.  Not as prone to blossom-end rot as hybrid tomato varieties, resistant to early blight. Ripening may be delayed in hot conditions.  Very heavy, concentrated harvest.  

A bit of its story: This variety was offered in the Seed Savers Exchange 1991 Yearbook by Maureen Conway, of Western NY who obtained the seed from an 87 year-old Italian gardener in the Finger Lakes area of New York State.  He seed saver and grew this variety for many years. He received the seed from a friend who brought them from Italy many years earlier.

Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before average last frost date. Plant seeds in sterile potting soil and provide 7-10 hours of direct light each day. Thin to the strongest plant per pot. Transplant 24" apart in full sun near a trellis, plants transplant better when small, 10-12" tall.  Do not water tomato plants, water only at the base. Reduce water as the tomatoes ripen to get the meatiest fruits.
