Dianthus chinensis var heddewigii
Unique version of a quintessential cottage garden perennial. Dark flowers range from eggplant-purple to black with white edges on petals. Attractive foliage is dark green to blueish and grasslike.
How to grow it:
Direct sow 3-4 weeks prior to last frost date. Tolerant of a light frost. Cover very lightly. Or, start indoors 8 weeks before last frost date. Transplants quite well provided it is kept moist during the establishment process.
