Echinacea purpurea

It's a beautiful perennial with a long blooming season and is somewhat drought tolerant. Roots and flower heads are medicinal and can be used to make teas, tinctures, and salves. Start indoors up to 12 weeks before last frost. Germination can take up to 2 weeks. Transplant at 24” apart. Alternatively, sow in place in spring or early fall, raking seeds in lightly in a weed free location.
