Quick facts:
- Austrian heirloom
- Heading iceberg lettuce
- Rare variety
- Light red blistering on leaf edges
Lactuca sativa
This heirloom lettuce is from near the city of Graz in Austria. We love to grow it because it is very slow to bolt in heat so the harvest window is wide open! Medium to large sized heads are crispy and mildew resistant. Plant it closer for a baby leaf or give it about 10" spacing to allow for heading. Plant in spring or fall.

Direct sow up to 4 weeks before the average last frost. Harvest leaves young by cutting the whole plant. Plant successively every two weeks to keep you in young greens, or give them more space to mature and harvest the whole plant. |
