99 days.  Syrup variety with canes suitable for making syrup/molasses.  Black Amber has beautiful black seed heads that can be used as decoration, grown for silage, or fed your chickens or other animals.  Also known as broom corn, use the heads to make brooms in the traditional way!  This heirloom was sent to Southern Exposure Seed Exchange from R.C. Mauldin of the Southwestern Seed Service Lab in Waco, TX.

After all danger of frost has passed, plant 2 seeds 12" apart in rows 18" apart. Thin to one strong plant per row foot. Allow seed heads to mature and dry on the plant as long as weather remains dry.
